Hi everybody! First off, thank you so much to everyone who participated in the Craft Cocktails at Home giveaway. Congrats, amyfaith, you are the winner!
amyfaith says:
I feel extremely fortunate to have not one, but two close friends who are dedicated cocktail enthusiasts, so I’ve been able to sample all sorts of lovely new flavors, aromas, and textures over the past few years. But I always end up coming back to the good ol’ sidecar. (I like it on the sour side without a sugared rim — I like my margueritas w/o salt too!)
Well, that and manhattans (with Maker’s Mark and a Luxardo cherry, thankyouverymuch).
And for those of you that would like another chance to win a copy, Eva of Adventures in Cooking is going to be doing a giveaway this month too!
Now, in other, super exciting news (which you might already know about if you follow me on Facebook): I was featured on Saveur’s Sites We Love series this week! Ahhhhh!! I’m not even sure I can fully express how I’m feeling right now. I have been having so much fun in this space lately, and the Saveur feature is the icing on an epic, amazing cake. I’m getting a little choked up thinking about how much a love being here, sharing and talking with all of you. And just how darn good things are right now. The sun is shining, the snow is melting, the ground feels soft beneath my feet. I’m tweaking on the impending Spring, and everything is inspiring, exciting, and awesome. I love you guys, and I hope you all have fantastic, sunny weekends. :)

Congrats to amyfaith and to you, Carey. You surely deserve the saveur nod!
Thanks, Kevin! I’ve reached out to Amy via email, so I’ll let you know when I hear from her.
Super huge congratulations to you. That is seriously so exciting!
Thank you, Jade! :D
Congrats on the Saveur nod! That’s really exciting. I’ve been reading your blog a while now, and it seemed as good at time as any to mention I love the dark aesthetic. It’s unique and it really works.
Thank you, Leah!
Wow! Congratulations! very well deserved!
Thanks, Archana! :D
yaaay! Congrats Carey! I love your answers—they read exactly like you. :) (and YES! Spring is in the air!)
Thanks, Linda! :D (It was totally weird writing all that stuff about myself….it took forever!)
All of our snow is pretty much gone up here — hurray!!! Johnny was in NYC this weekend for a coffee trade show. He said it was snowy when he first got down there, but by Saturday it was 60° and awesome. :)
Congrats again for the Saveur feature! You deserve it. We spent the weekend outside (Outside!) because it was sunny, and spring is on it’s way. It was still pretty cold and a bit windy, but the sun was out! So we went out, too.
Thanks, Brianne!
I went out on Sunday morning and, without checking the weather, I decided to risk it and wear a light spring coat and pair of flats. I stepped outside and the sun hit me, and I actually felt too warm in my coat. I practically danced down the street! :D I definitely got a dose of that chilly wind over at Johnny’s apartment, though, which is right near the river. But as long as my feet are on the path to recovery after boot season, I’m a happy camper!
